To All Dabchicks Members

This forthcoming sailing season we have a packed programme of events for dinghies and cruisers. The 2008 programmes can now be found on the club web site under the dinghy and cruiser sections.

To ensure we as a club can deliver the sailing requested by the membership (weekend dinghy racing and cruising, RYA Training events, Class events) we urgently need volunteers for every event we run.

Remember back to when you filled in your membership form, I hope, you entered on the form what you would be able to do for the club to run these events. After all, we are not a business, this is a club run by club volunteers.

We urgently need the following for the forthcoming weekend dinghy events:

• Support Boat Drivers - We are running a FREE Coxswains course on 27th April. This is for anybody in the club who will drive a support boat during the coming year and you will be rostered onto an event as payment for the course!!
• Support Boat Crew - Join in on the Coxswains course on 27th April and we will show you how to work as a crew member on a support boat.
• Beach Crew - To launch and recover the dinghies.
• Officer Of the Day - We need additional OODs for events that we run for both Dinghy and Cruiser racing at the weekend.
• OOD Crew - To support the Officer of the Day in tasks such as Spotters, Timekeepers etc. You need NO experience and this is the best way to get out there and see what goes on!
• Galley Crew - Probably the most important job! We need galley crew at weekend events not just on Wednesday nights!!

Remember, this is YOUR club, get involved!!
